Hello 2014

Add caption

I seem to have got swept up into doing Facebook posts rather than the blogg. I keep hearing that  a FB page is really important for a business but it does actually take up quite a bit of time. I will try to do a catch up now but you can always see whats been going on on www.facebook.com/lymehurstbandbllandudno.

There was a super Medieval Day in Conwy in December that culminated in the Torch Lit Parade through the town. There were so many re enactment groups that at times Conwy really did look as if it had stepped back in time It was very bizarre to come out of the toilets on Conwy Quay and see two Medieval knights exiting the mens toilets!

Honey Galore

The variety of honey on sale at the Conwy Honey Fair was amazing. So many different  types, colours and  textures, it was hard to choose. Consequently I came home laden with jars of honey from different stalls
Just look at the different colours and textures

This honey has the honey comb included. I 'm looking forward to trying this

Looks so good with the sun shining throught the honey and  honey comb

I had to restrict my self to 3 plants as I couldn't carry anymore! All I need to do now is dig my new front borders so I can plant them

Conwy Honey Fair September 13th 2013

This is always such a popular event when the main street of the walled town of Conwy is closed off so local honey producers can set up their stalls to sell honey. A 700 year old Royal Charter permits this event........so it's been going on for quite a while!!
Stalls on the main street

Honey producers from many  local areas came to sell their honey.

Honey and beeswax products

Hand made toiletries using bees wax from Trees and Bees company www.treesandbees.me.uk. I bought some of their Beeswax moisturiser with essential oils.....smells divine.

As well as the honey stalls there were also hand made soaps, craft work, home bakes and plants.

Even had musicians playing all sorts of recorders.

Conwy Pirate Weekend 2013

After the success of last year's Pirate Weekend another was planned for this year. Even the horrendous weather on Saturday couldn't dampen the festivities. Visitors came flocking to Conwy, many in Pirate costume. My sister who lives there said it was a very intersting walk into town, seeing so many visitors in costumes heading down to the Quay.  I couldn't go over as I was expecting guests. On Sunday once my guests left, it was down with the cleaning gear and off to join the fun.
As you'll see from the photos there was a battle enactment, sea shanties being sung, belly dancing, historical stalls, birds of prey, walking the plank, stocks etc.

Conwy Seed Fair 2013

On Tuesday Conwy's High Street was closed off and stalls selling plants, bulbs, seeds, honey, homebakes & crafts etc were set up. This is a 700 year old charter fair founded by Edward 1st. I have to say that the stall holders were brave to come out on such a bitterly cold day. Last year it was warm and sunny....quite a contrast.
On the way to Conwy the view to Conwy Mountain

By the time I left it was much brighter and more visitors were arriving. So let's hope all the stall holders did well after making such an effort to attend the fair.
