Autumn Time
It has got to that time in the year when business dwindles away and I
start to worry about the amount of income coming in. I should be used to
this. I know this is how it is and that I have to keep money from
busier times to tide me over untill business picks up again. I also know
that I should take advantage of the free time to do some craft work
but there is that constant worry in the back of my mind. It also un
nerves me when other places still seem to be getting plenty of business.
I obviously do need to find some more productive ways of advertising. I
still haven't joined a company such as LastMinute.com, Lateooms.com or
Booking.com as apart from them taking 15% I also think that I miss out
on the initial contact with the prospective customers which I think is
really important. If business doesn't pick up as much as I'd like then
I'll have to bite the bullitt and go with one of the above companies..

Llandudno Christmas Fayre 2013
Just 4 minutes down the road, Madoc Street in Llandudno was closed off on Wednesday night in order for the marquees to be set up. How the guys managed to erect them I do not know as there was a gale blowing and it was bitter . Earlier on in the week we'd had horrendous hail storms so it didn't look too promising for the fayre. However by Thursday the stall holders, over a hundred, had got themselves installed and were ready to trade. When I popped down on Thursday I recognised many stall holders from previous years but there were many new stalls too.
This stall sold rings made from old silver tea spoons. It's worth checking out their website |
Good warming drinks on offer |
This man makes coracls and teaches bush craft |
Womens chior proved popular |
Playing a dulcimer |
A duo playing folk songs |
There was certainly a good selection of products being sold.

An Even Nicer Way To Receive A Deposit
It's always good to get a booking but there is something really nice when guests don't just send the deposit cheque in an envelope but send it in a lovely card.

Looking Back Over The Glorious Summer
Well at last we had a real summer and it lasted so long too. It was
wonderful to be able to go out without having to wear lots of layres of
clothes. Apparently it was the best summer for 7 years!!! I only hope
we don't have to wait that long again. The feel good factor throughout
Llandudno was palpable. Businesses from shops, cafes to the suppliers of
all the accommodation providers all felt the benefit of an increase in
tourism due to the weather.
The garden at Lymehurst definitely enjoyed the summer weather and seemed to suddenly erupt into a mass of colour. Insect, having taken a battering during the spring time lept into life and it was wonderful to have so many butterflies and bees in the garden.

Happy Event
Since the Honey Fair back in September my niece and Australian husband had a Service of Blessing in her home town of Conwy. This enabled all relatives and friends to celebrate their marriage too. The weather couldn't have been better that weekend. On the Sunday we'd planned to have a buffet for relatives before they departed home. (That is a plus point of having a bigger property as I offered to hold the buffet here at Lymehurst) As it was so sunny. we were actually able to have everybody sitting out in the garden. It was lovely to be able to sit outside and eat and chat in the sunshine.
...Mother of the bride now totally relaxed after all the preparations

Honey Galore
The variety of honey on sale at the Conwy Honey Fair was amazing. So many different types, colours and textures, it was hard to choose. Consequently I came home laden with jars of honey from different stalls
Just look at the different colours and textures |
This honey has the honey comb included. I 'm looking forward to trying this |
Looks so good with the sun shining throught the honey and honey comb |
I had to restrict my self to 3 plants as I couldn't carry anymore! All I need to do now is dig my new front borders so I can plant them |
